This page explains, in plain terms, what information is collected when you use umojapride.org or contact us, and who can see it. If anything here is unclear, email hello@umojapride.org.
Who we are
UmojaPride is a community-led initiative supporting LGBTQ+ people in Uganda and across Africa. You can reach us at hello@umojapride.org.
Visiting this website
- No forms, no accounts. This site has no contact forms, sign-ups or logins, so it does not store anything you type.
- No advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use advertising, tracking pixels or Google Analytics.
- Hosting. The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Videos. Videos are embedded from YouTube but nothing loads from YouTube until you tap play. After that, Google's privacy policy applies.
- Safety guides. Our guides are stored in Google Drive. Opening one is handled by Google.
When you contact us
- Signal and WhatsApp messages are end-to-end encrypted, so only you and we can read them. WhatsApp, owned by Meta, can still see that you messaged our number and when.
- Email is not end-to-end encrypted. Your email provider and ours can technically access messages.
- We use what you send only to reply to you and to provide the support you ask for. We never publish names or identifying details without your consent, and we do not share your information with anyone without your permission.
- We delete messages we no longer need. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it.
Donations
Donations are processed by Stripe on its own secure pages. We receive your name, email address and the amount you gave, but never your card details. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
