Architects of a safer tomorrow
Our role is not to speak for the silenced, but to build a sanctuary where their voices can be heard without fear, and to shield the vulnerable until the law catches up with human dignity.
Executive Director and Co-founder
John Ivan Kisekka
A strategist and storyteller, John keeps UmojaPride grounded in the real, lived experiences of the LGBTQ+ community, and turns abstract policy into practical protection.
I wake up every day to prove that human rights are not a gift from the state, but an inherent fact of our shared humanity.
Co-founder
Daniel Lugobwa
With over 20 years in human rights advocacy, Daniel leads with a philosophy of "radical empathy". He believes true safety comes not just from walls, but from close-knit communities that stand together.
True activism is the work done when no one is watching: the quiet, relentless pursuit of secure housing, restored livelihoods, and the private victories that keep resistance alive.
