Building resilience through action

Our approach meets immediate needs while building long-term independence and change for LGBTQ+ Ugandans.

Community members gathering in a safe space

Emergency housing

Temporary housing for people in immediate crisis. Support is discreet, vetted, and designed as a lifeline when other doors have closed.

  • Emergency harbour. Access to a confidential network of safe housing for those displaced by state or social violence.
  • Mental health counselling. Private access to counselling from people who understand the specific trauma of systemic erasure.

Economic sovereignty

Justice is impossible without independence. We focus on rebuilding the financial lives that discrimination has stripped away.

  • Professional re-entry. Discreet job placement and skills training for community members who have lost work because of their identity.
  • Sovereignty grants. Funding and mentorship for small, independent businesses that give financial security away from homophobic workplaces.
  • Digital business training. Skills to run digital businesses, so members can earn an income that does not depend on a homophobic employer.
  • Resource navigation. Guidance on accessing essential services without revealing sensitive personal details to hostile institutions.

Re-education and advocacy

Our support is quiet, but our truth is loud. We use evidence to dismantle the myths that keep our community in the shadows.

  • Scientific de-mystification. Clear, accessible evidence that counters the "foreign import" myth and explains the biological reality of diversity.
  • Documented resilience. A secure platform for the stories of LGBTQ+ Ugandans, so queer history is preserved and queer humanity is recognised.
  • Ally toolkits. Resources for activists and allies to challenge misinformation in their own circles using law and fact.

Digital and physical safety

We equip our community with the tools to stay out of sight of those who wish them harm.

  • Digital security training. Workshops on encrypted communication (Signal, VPNs), removing metadata from shared stories, data privacy, and protecting a digital footprint from state surveillance.
  • Safety protocols. Vetted guidance on physical security and emergency exit planning for individuals and small groups.
  • Secure connection hub. A protected point of contact for the community and the diaspora to coordinate support.
